Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has been producing high quality food ingredients for more than 100 years. In Europe, AJINOMOTO FOODS EUROPE S.A.S., located in France, produces and distributes large ranges of savoury ingredients to the European food industry, including AJI-NO-MOTO®, the company's signature Umami seasoning and AJITIDE®, a nucleotide based product which is used in soups, snacks, meat and fish dishes, and many kinds of sauces and spices. The portfolio of food ingredients also includes ACTIVA®, an innovative product, which won the prestigious Food Ingredient Europe prize in 1996 and which improves the texture of raw materials such as meat, fish, pasta and noodles.
The company has been developing its activities targeted to the consumer market. Expanding from its seasoning brands, Aji-no-moto®, Hon-dashi® and Yamaki®, everyone can now have a taste of Japan with frozen food products such as gyôza or yakitori, the famous instant noodles Oyakata® Ramen and Calpis®, should not be forgotten, considering its popularity among the Japanese people, regardless of their age.
Okome Fukkura Chôriryô®, also known as the "rice improver", perfects the taste of the rice used in the sushi that are so sought after in Europe. As for Mamenori-san®, these soybean sheets come in handy as they can be rolled, folded, used as decoration, in wrapping other ingredients and even replace the sea weed in the preparation of maki or California rolls.
